At the request of the Cross-Border Workshop, the WES agency examines the cross-border labour market in the French-Belgian metropolis Lille. Thanks to conversations with key observers, WES identifies the most important advantages and obstacles.
The report successively deals with :
• the current status of cross-border labour,
• the profile of cross-border labour (number, age, gender, levels of education, etc.),
• the role of the public and private intermediaries,
• the motivation of the employees and the companies,
• the constraints on the development of cross-border labour.
By way of conclusion, the Cross-Border Workshop formulates a number of recommendations for the cross-border development of the labour market.
