The cross-border Workshop asked the study bureau Tetra to conduct a series of interviews amongst people selected in the French, Flemish and Walloon territories, who are involved in or particularly associated with the cross-border issue.
The interviews were focused on three main questions :

  • what are the current ideas on the international French-Belgian metropolis ?
  • what are the obstacles to and driving forces behind the metropolis creation process and what are the expectations for each territory ?
  • what hierarchical working methods can be deduced from this process ?

The Tetra bureau report provides a means of identifying the underlying problems and obstacles more effectively. It underlines the existence of a consensus to support the metropolis creation process as well as the different strategies of each territory with regard to this process.
Finally, the report contains concrete propositions to provide food for thought.
