| The COPIT-GPCI is helping the parties to think and make decisions together:
With its working groups, debates and colloquiums, the COPIT-GPCI is forging links between the parties on either side of the border. It is building bridges between worlds which do not or only superficially know each other.
- It expands the perspective on the cross-border area and promotes the development of a common culture.
- It helps to identify common interests.
- It promotes mutual trust and consensus.
- It encourages policy makers, companies, planners and researchers to get to know each other better, to aim for complementarity and to express their own identity more effectively.

- It contributes to a better understanding of the cross-border area.
- It anticipates needs. It looks for opportunities and projects.
